Our Librarian is Tony Barry who joined the choir in 2010 having never been in a choir before. The first pieces he sang with the choir were Kodaly’s Missa Brevis and Vivaldi’s Gloria.
Tony took over guardianship of the library from Judith Griffiths who joined the choir in 1967 when Gwyn Arch started conducting. Many of Gwyn’s fabulous arrangements are in the library, together with many choral pieces for SATB from composers including ABBA and Willcocks with Rutter, Chilcott and Bullard in between.
The library is now housed in a spare upstairs room in Tony’s house…in four shelving units and part of the floor! Tony takes pride in dealing with all enquiries from choirs around the United Kingdom promptly.
